What is the Sweatcoin App?
The Sweatcoin app is an interesting way to make money, promoted under the slogan "earn money by walking." This digital currency project is designed for fitness enthusiasts, making it easier to track athletic progress and rewarding users who achieve goals like losing weight or increasing muscle mass.
There are numerous cryptocurrency projects online, but not many are dedicated to helping users lose weight and become healthier. Sweatcoin stands out with its rewards program, which operates on its own blockchain. Whenever you exercise or simply move, you receive Sweatcoin.
Note that the Sweatcoin app isn’t available as a desktop application; it’s only accessible on Android and iOS devices. There’s also a cryptocurrency called SWEAT, which can be converted into Sweatcoin if desired.
In this article, I’ll cover all you need to know about the Sweatcoin app and how to create an account in the app using a temporary Google account.
How the Sweatcoin App Works
Sweatcoin is a free mobile app that allows users to track their daily fitness and earn Sweatcoins in return. Users can set personal goals, like calorie burn or step count targets, and the app syncs with popular fitness apps for convenience.
Sweatcoin has tens of millions of active users, and these users can spend their Sweatcoins with business partners—there are hundreds available in the Sweatcoin app. It’s available in most European countries, as well as the U.S. and Canada.
How Does Sweatcoin App Work?
The Sweatcoin app counts steps using a sensor built into the phone. With each step, you earn a certain number of Sweatcoins, which can be used to purchase items on the app’s marketplace. This marketplace features products from well-known brands that you can buy with Sweatcoins or sometimes at a discount with cash.
If you prefer, you can donate your Sweatcoins to charitable organizations. You can also convert Sweatcoins to cryptocurrency and then cash out at online cryptocurrency exchanges.
Creating a Sweatcoin Account
The Sweatcoin app works only on mobile, and a web version isn’t expected anytime soon. To register successfully, you’ll need an Android or iOS device. I’m using an Android phone (a Galaxy S7) for this guide and creating a temporary Google account for the Sweatcoin app.
Getting a Virtual Number
I’ll use the SMSOTPVERIFY virtual number service to get a temporary number. I've trusted this service for some time. Head to the SMSOTPVERIFY website:
Create an account and add a balance—$1 should be enough.
Choose the country and service you need. I selected the USA as the country and "Google/YouTube/Gmail" as the service, then clicked “Buy.”
The selected phone number will appear at the top of the site. Copy it, return to Google, and paste it into the phone number form.
Confirm the number, return to SMSOTPVERIFY, and press the “Get SMS” button. After clicking, you'll be charged, and a Google confirmation code will appear.
Copy this verification code and paste it into the Google form. After successful verification, you’ll complete a short form with personal information.
Complete the form, agree to Google’s security policy, and your Google account is officially created.
Sweatcoin Sign-Up with Temporary Google Account
Now that your Google account is ready, download the Sweatcoin app from the Google Play Store on your Android device.
Congratulations! Your Sweatcoin account is now ready. Enjoy earning rewards by walking!
